The Art of Stucco Veneziano
Born in Sicily from ancient customs passed down through generations of master artisans, Stucco Veneziano is the original decorative wall covering. Applied by hand with a steel spatula, each layer is burnished to create a smooth and shiny, almost mirror-like surface of extraordinary depth and luminosity.
Unlike paint, Venetian plaster builds dimension through multiple translucent layers — 300 to 400 grams per square metre per coat. As light moves across the surface, the finish reveals subtle tonal shifts that transform walls into living surfaces. The result is moisture resistant and breathable — every application unique, a true expression of the artisan's hand.
ATRIA's Stucco Veneziano is manufactured in Partanna, Sicily using the same time-honoured formulation since 1968. Available in 16 curated colors and custom-tintable to any shade — RAL, NCS, Pantone, Benjamin Moore, or a physical sample.
Application
An Ancient Technique, Refined
Venetian plaster is applied in multiple ultra-thin layers, each burnished with a steel trowel to build depth, movement, and a luminous marble-like finish. The technique rewards patience and skill — each pass of the trowel shapes the final character of the surface.
Experienced DIYers with good trowel control can achieve beautiful results on accent walls and smaller surfaces. For full rooms, high ceilings, or commercial projects, we recommend working with an experienced applicator or completing our training program. Talk to our team for project guidance.
