Beyond Ordinary Walls

Walls as Works of Art

Some walls are meant to disappear into the background. Others are meant to command attention, provoke emotion, and define the character of a space. ATRIA's decorative finish line — spanning liquid metals, oxidized rust patinas, pearlescent sheens, and specialty textures — transforms ordinary walls into extraordinary design statements.

These are not paint effects or faux finishes. METALLICUM contains real metal particles that undergo genuine oxidation. Wild Rust produces authentic iron oxide patina that develops organically. Grace Pearl uses advanced pearlescent pigment technology to create surfaces that shift and shimmer with changing light. Each finish is hand-applied by skilled artisans using techniques developed over decades of Italian decorative tradition.

In Dallas-Fort Worth's design landscape — where homes range from sleek contemporary to rustic industrial to Mediterranean revival — decorative finishes offer a level of customization and character that mass-produced materials simply cannot match. A single accent wall finished in METALLICUM bronze or Wild Rust can redefine an entire room, creating a focal point that draws the eye, sparks conversation, and elevates the space from ordinary to unforgettable.

METALLICUM

Liquid Metal Finishes

METALLICUM

Real metal particles suspended in a decorative base coat — iron, bronze, copper, brass, and aluminum. Applied by trowel and oxidized or patinated to create authentic metallic surfaces that are warm to the touch and alive with character. METALLICUM is not paint that looks like metal — it contains actual metal particles that oxidize and evolve over time.

Common Questions

Decorative Finishes FAQ

Yes. METALLICUM products contain real metal particles — iron, bronze, copper, brass, or aluminum — suspended in a decorative base. This means they undergo genuine oxidation and patination over time, developing authentic character that synthetic metallic paints cannot replicate. The surface is warm to the touch and has the visual depth of actual metal.

The initial oxidation is activated during application using an oxidizing solution. Visible rust patterns begin forming within hours and develop fully over 24–48 hours. The oxidation can be controlled and stopped at any desired stage with a protective sealer. Each application produces unique, unrepeatable patterns — no two Wild Rust walls are ever the same.

Grace Pearl and certain METALLICUM finishes can be used in bathrooms when properly sealed with a waterproof topcoat. Wild Rust is best suited for dry interior environments. For wet-area applications, we recommend our microcement system as the primary surface with decorative metallic accents on non-wet walls.

Decorative finishes are a premium product — typically $18–$40 per square foot installed, depending on the finish type and complexity. This reflects the cost of real metal particles, artisan application, and the multi-step process. However, a single accent wall at 50–80 square feet makes this a surprisingly accessible luxury — often $1,000–$3,000 for a transformative design element.
