About this finish
PURO Microcement
What it is
Microcement is a cement-and-resin coating that is hand-troweled over your existing floors, walls, or tile in thin layers — the complete PURO system is only about 2–3 mm thick. Because it bonds directly to what is already there, including old tile, you get one continuous, grout-free surface without demolition. It is not a paint and not a slab: it is a layered system — primer, cementitious base coat, two colored finish coats, and a clear protective sealer.
Why choose it
- Renovates over tile with no demolition — Primer BC bonds straight to ceramic, tile, glass, wood, and MDF, so the old surface stays in place and the tear-out, dumpster, and weeks of re-tiling never happen.
- Seamless and only about 2–3 mm thick — no grout lines to scrub, no height buildup that blocks doors or transitions, one continuous surface across floors, walls, and curbs.
- Shower-ready as an assembly — over code-compliant waterproofing, SuperTitanium BC (32 ± 2 MPa compressive strength at 28 days, EN 1015-11) plus the UV-stable, non-yellowing Atriapol antibacterial topcoat (ISO 22196:2011 certified) build a complete wet-area system; no single coat is the membrane — the assembled stack is what performs.
How it’s applied
- 01Your surface gets the primer matched to what it is: Primerquarz for absorbent walls, or Atriafloor Primer BC on floors — bare concrete and screed as well as tile, ceramic, wood, and glass. The substrate has to be sound before priming: solid, dry, and vacuumed free of dust and loose material. A chalky or friable slab has to be made sound first — Primer BC is an anchoring primer, not a consolidant, and must not go over an unstable surface.
- 02In showers and wet rooms, a code-compliant waterproofing layer goes down before anything else — the finished assembly built over it is what makes the room waterproof.
- 03Rasante One, the cementitious base coat, is troweled on to level the surface, with fiberglass mesh embedded where reinforcement is needed.
- 04Two thin coats of your chosen finish — Titanium, SuperTitanium BC, Titanium Superfino, or Resina One — build the color and the hand-troweled texture.
- 05Two coats of Atriapol sealer, matte or gloss, lock the surface against wear and stains.
- 06Light foot traffic is fine about 12–14 hours after the final sealer coat; treat it gently while it reaches full cure over 5–7 days.
